Product Overview: TOHATSU 18hp

The Tohatsu 18hp 4-Stroke has a terrific horsepower-to-weight ratio and provides reliable power for a variety of boating applications. The 18hp Tohatsu is the largest 2-cylinder engine in our lineup. A tuned intake system and stepped up features like increased carburetion and modified cam shaft provide additional horsepower over our 15hp model for superior performance.

The 18hp Tohatsu includes features like a CD ignition system, automatic choke, auto-by-starter system, and a decompression device located on the recoil that work in harmony to provide quick and easy dependable starting. The gear shift selector and steering friction lever are located at the front of the engine for ease of operation and maximum maneuverability. A canister style oil filter allows for hassle-free maintenance.

Adjustable Steering Friction Lever

The steering friction lever, located on the front of the engine, allows steering friction to be adjusted for steady running at high speeds as well as easier maneuvering for trolling.

Through-The-Prop Exhaust

Through-the-prop exhaust greatly reduces engine noise for a more enjoyable boating experience. This feature is standard on all Tohatsu outboards 4hp and above.

Forward-Mounted Gear Shift

The gear shift lever is located on the front of the engine for convenience.
